An idea from Shileng

After going kinokuniya today, I have some very random ideas for the
float design. Feel free to comment.

Err... If i din rmb wrongly, zhaoyuan says that the theme for this yr
is meant to sort of commerate 50 yrs of rag. Aligned with this theme,
I thought of the design of a FACTORY.

The centre of this design of the factory aims to represent different
aspect of doing rag being a production unit of the floats.

One part of the float can be a colourful wrapped gift. The cover will
have things like words of encouragements that raggers and their
friends give to support their peers thru rag. Can have some short
comic scripts to represent the jokes that raggers share to cheer each
other up. The cover of the gift box can pop open and something
canspring out, like those jester box, to represent the element of
surprise that every rag team aims to give the hall/fac they're
representing.

Another part is a 'chocolate' river/lake. chocolate can be both bitter
and sweet, symobolising the different memories that raggers share. But
in most cases, rag memory like chocolate, it's something that many
will cherish and enjoy. Got a suggest like may be can use something
like a convey belt to simulate the flow of the chocolate river. But
problem is that it may look boring cos most prob it's straight line.

Next, can maybe do a few, maybe 2 or 3, relatively large transparent
tube on the float to symbolise the central engine/turbine of the
factory. At the bottom of the tube, there can be a fan Inside the
tube, can have some lightweight objects like coloured papers that will
fly around when the fan is switched, to show that the factory is
running.

The last part can be pyramid or eiffel tower, sort of like
representing how the float is like the one of the 7 wonders to the
hall/facs. Also, behing these wonders, there's a great deal of
ingenity But this may look a bit out of place.

Anyway, if u still dun get it, it'll be something like charlie and the
chocolate factory, just that a bit twisted. Mouch of the designs that
i suggested seems to be onl aligned with the spirit part of the theme,
not really the passion part. But nonetheless, i find this idea quite
okay as it offers a relatively huge space for our imagination to run
wild. Also, even without the mechanisms, the float can already look
quite colourful, which will help a lot in the static judging.
